Mitel UC offering templates available for immediate trial, deployment
AUSTIN, TX — February 7, 2011 — Artisan Infrastructure, the wholesale Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider, today announced it has received the Mitel (Nasdaq: MITL) Virtualized Datacenter Accreditation.
The accreditation affirms Artisan Infrastructure’s commitment to voice as a cloud application as well as the specific network architecture and quality of service requirements that come with it.
“This accreditation helps eliminate any uncertainties among managed service providers and their clients about Mitel solutions running on infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provided by Artisan Infrastructure,” said Brian Hierholzer, president and CEO of Artisan Infrastructure.
“UC solutions cannot be spun up in any hosted environment and be expected to perform properly,” Hierholzer said. “These applications are not like e-mail which does not require real time processing. Artisan Infrastructure has made considerable investments to make voice viable in the cloud.”
Along with the accreditation, Mitel also created UCS templates in Cornerstone, Artisan Infrastructure’s virtual private data center platform (vPDC) platform. These templates provide an on-demand vehicle for solution-provider trials combined with the ability to immediately deploy Mitel-based, fully hosted, multi-tenant communications solutions.
Through this technology partnership, joint customers of Mitel and Artisan Infrastructure can now deliver hosted IP solutions using Virtual Mitel Communications Director (vMCD), a software-based call control solution that provides the foundation for all of Mitel unified communications solutions. This makes it simple and cost-effective to provision UC-as-a-service (UCaaS).
“Mitel Freedom’s cloud-ready software stream allows us to work with IaaS providers like Artisan Infrastructure combined with our joint customers to leverage our unified communications solutions in a cloud environment,” said Bob Anderson, Mitel’s vice-president, U.S. channel marketing. “With Artisan achieving this accreditation, solution providers who use Artisan’s IaaS platform can enhance their existing offerings with the addition of their own fully managed Unified Communications as a Service bundle.”
The Mitel solution is part of a neutral ecosystem that Artisan Infrastructure is building through Cornerstone. The ecosystem includes easy-to-access independent software vendor (ISV) solution templates that also double as proofs-of-concept. This allows potential MSP and solution-provider customers to instantly evaluate multiple cloud solutions before making vendor and licensing commitments while avoiding the hardware expenses normally required for running trials.
“Artisan Infrastructure, together with companies like Mitel, is revolutionizing the way service providers can enter and profitably compete in the hosted VoIP business,” Hierholzer said. “We are unaware of any other wholesale only provider that offers infrastructure-as-a-service together with a comprehensive solution neutral ecosystem of cloud solutions; this is a game changer.”
Artisan Infrastructure customers can pick and choose their own solutions from a catalog of solution templates. Artisan Infrastructure does not sell or resell solutions it houses in its virtual private data center. Service providers maintain separate business relationships with Artisan Infrastructure for IaaS and with integrated software vendors for SaaS offerings.
Artisan Infrastructure’s vPDC provides a secure, multi-tenant, and highly available infrastructure-as-a-service platform that allows solution providers to architect, implement, and provide their own cloud solutions. Solution providers maintain complete security, control and autonomy while managing their own cloud solutions.
By partnering with Artisan, solution provider customers save significant architectural and planning time; eliminate up-front and ongoing capital costs, and completely minimize the complexity of building and maintaining their own best-of-breed, geographically redundant data centers that infinitely scale.
